Holiday Food Drive
Please help us with our Holiday Donate A Box Drive to combat food insecurity in Washington state and beyond. As people gear up for the COVID vaccine, we on the farm are continuing our mission of donating food, as there is no vaccine for hunger. There are a variety of ways to help mitigate the heartbreaking challenges so many face today, such as donating food, volunteering time and making charitable contributions. All of it adds up to help end hunger in our country, especially in the midst of a pandemic.
Food insecurity is defined as limited or uncertain access to food at an economic and social level. It is distinct from hunger, an individual-level physiological condition that may result from food insecurity. The USDA estimated in 2018 that 11 million children in the US lived in food-insecure households, and that was pre-pandemic. As of this summer, nearly 30% of households with children were not getting adequate meals, with school closures and loss of jobs as contributing factors.
If you are able to donate your box even once, it can make a huge difference. On our website, there are several ways to participate in our Donate A Box program. You can opt to donate a skipped delivery, add a $10 donation when you customize your box, or visit fullcircle.com/donate to make separate one-time or recurring donations to be graciously donated to one of three food banks.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us feed our brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers, neighbors, the frontline workers, the heroes, and this generation of children. All families deserve the fundamental right to food; let’s help make a vital shift in food insecurity in 2021.
