Why Full Circle is Saying No to GMOs and Saying Yes to I522
As a supporter of organic agriculture it’s a no-brainer that we’re for labeling of GMOs. Full Circle has always rejected the idea that consumers have no choice beyond “industrial food” and its ill effects on our health and the environment.
We continue to offer a different approach: local and sustainably-grown agriculture – connecting people directly to the growers and artisans responsible for their food, all while promoting health and providing convenience.
Our mission has always been to change the way food is grown, sourced and distributed – to change the food system, and the key to this all is transparency. Unless we as consumers know what is in our food and where that food is coming from we can’t make educated decisions.
Initiative 522 is heading in the right direction. Labeling GMOs will give us knowledge, the knowledge to decide for ourselves what we choose to feed our families. And knowledge is power.
This scares some people, primarily large out-of-state, corporate backers. Monsanto just poured in $4.5 million, alongside Bayer Cropscience, Dupont Pioneer, Dow Agrosciences and the Grocery Manufacturers Association. They each have an average of $1.5 million donated to the No side of I522.
Don’t let Big Ag buy this election! Join over 6000 donors that have given an average of $25 to support the YES on 522 campaign!
