Little Rae’s Cookies

Scary good cookies for Halloween and every holiday! Little Rae’s Bakery creates all natural shortbread cookies with a variety of unique festive designs using plant-derived colors. Passionate about real food and sustainability, Little Rae’s supports other local businesses and farms, while making a treat that you can feel good about eating.

Little Rae’s had a gradual entry into the Seattle, WA baked goods scene when friends James, Tony and Sam started baking after hours in a restaurant kitchen to supply area coffee shops. They would work all night and make a little bit of everything,– muffins, croissants, scones, so that in the early morning someone could load up the fresh goodies and deliver them around town. In time, Little Rae’s (named after Tony’s cat) became quite a distributor of baked goods throughout the city.

These days, they specialize in shortbread cookies after having perfected their unique process of decorating them. Piping frosting onto cookies is hugely labor intensive, so Sam started hand drawing designs and stenciling them on. From there, they purchased more specialized equipment and scaled up their production so that eventually shortbread cookies edged out the other baked goods in their facility. Still tweaking their designs and adding new ones, Little Rae’s continues to innovate and has experimented with additional flavors of shortbread cookie, as well.

Sourcing Stiebrs eggs, Darigold butter and Shepherd’s Grain flour, Little Rae’s is proud of the ingredients they bake into their delicious cookies. They also provide a clean, comfortable working environment for their employees, some of whom have been with them for 15 years. Says Sam, now CEO of the business, “It’s a good vibe, and a nice, clean bakery. We have music going and people are smiling and laughing.” He’s grateful for the support of all those in the community who have helped them keep going over the years and through the pandemic. As a Seattle staple and purveyor of fun beautiful treats throughout the region, we look forward to enjoying Little Rae’s cookies and sharing them with you for years to come.
