Help Your Local Food Bank
Farm News
Our government has been in a partial shutdown for more than 35 days, the longest on record for over 40 years. It would be easy for me to write today about our upcoming seed orders and all the amazing veggies we hope to grow for you this season, but we feel very moved to ask you to take this time to donate to your local food banks.
If you are not utilizing your box this week, or in the coming weeks, or would like to donate an extra box, please find it in your hearts to donate to the food bank of your area. As a member of Full Circle it is an easy click on our website and here in the Pacific Northwest we are linked to Northwest Harvest, serving many food banks in Washington state. One of their current statements, “Local Food Banks- The final safety net when public assistance programs run out of funding- are seeing unprecedented demand due to the current government shutdown,” could not say it any better. At the most basic human level we need to provide food for all, and there are many ways to donate, volunteer and take positive action. For example, the Northwest Harvest website is packed with opportunities to keep their shelves stocked. www.northwestharvest.org
As we head into our 24th year of growing here in the northwest our mission has not waivered, but deepened and strengthened in growing healthy, organic produce for all, please join us in making a difference. Let us work together to help those in need. Visit fullcircle.com/donate to learn more.
