Feast on the Farm

FARM NEWS
This week, we are delighted to celebrate Feast on The Farm, an amazing event on the farm benefiting Stewardship Partners, our long-standing allies in salmon safe farming and ecological health of our watersheds.
We are delighted to have executive chef and owner of Mistral Kitchen, William Belickis, preparing all of our wonderful farm veggies for a beautiful farm feast in the field.
Our collaboration with Stewardship Partners started many moons ago in joining their mission “to build bridges and find solutions that achieve mutual goals of environmental protection, economic health and community well-being. Projects restore fish and wildlife habitat, improve water quality, protect open space and “green up” the built environment — while maintaining working landscapes of farms, forestland and livable communities throughout the state.”
Our first project in 2002 was to begin a lengthy buffer zone for the Snoqualmie River in restoring habitat for salmon. In 2004, we were the first agricultural properties in Western Washington to receive “Salmon-Safe Farming” certification.

While restoration and Salmon-Safe practices progressed over the years, our Griffin Creek Farm hosted the first Feast on The Farm fundraiser in 2010. This event is essential in teaching our supporters about our programs and partners and providing a platform to raise funds. In 2015, Adopt-A-Buffer officially launched with Full Circle and Starbucks to connect and restore riverbed areas eroded by floods. The 2017 8th Feast on the Farm was a great success and if you weren’t able to be with us, you can still help support this very special organization at: www.stewardshippartners.org

We raise a glass and a plate full of veggies to all those who have helped to protect this incredible community resource!
