As we move into 2019 with a full moon solstice send-off and lessons of 2018, we are filled with a great deal of hope in our hearts and soil! To nurture our farm and our vegetables is to nurture our soil and the beautiful earth. To nurture our farm and our vegetables is to nurture our hearts and all the loving people that make it possible every day.

As your farmers, we will continue to nurture with diligence and compassion in growing organic vegetables and giving many opportunities for you to connect to this exquisite land, its intricate ecosystems and its cherished sense of place in the Carnation Valley.

Our days in January will be filled with lots of fun, planning for the coming growing season and our planting plan and crop list finalized. We will delight in new varieties and continue our tried and true favorites of course, you guessed it, Lacinato kale!

As my brother sweetly ushered us to “bring it on in for a family huddle,” after singing carols for those we dearly miss this holiday, I was struck by the extraordinary power of love and gifts of capability we all embody as caretakers of each other and caretakers of the natural land.
